I got an email update about Moose today. I had sent Alan an email a few days ago asking how his anxiety level is and if he had met any people. The dogs that I met that he was referring to were AWESOME. Super friendly and outgoing. They were not that way at all when they arrived.
Alan also posted some photos of Moose this week. The red colored dog in the photos is Rock, who is apparently one of Moo's best buds. His other best friend is Tessie, the big dog in the bottom photo. I should mention, it's super cool to see Moose around a horse. He and farm animals were never exactly friends. He always was way overexcited and super loud about it.
Here is the email:
Hi Caelynn,
Glad you got a chance to see your Moose's photos. He's been outside (on long line) with the normal bunch of guys that are allowed loose when some visitors came. Although he didn't wander over to try and meet them, he was non-reactive, Which was nice to see.
What you have to understand is, it's not about meeting a whole bunch of people, it's about letting go of their fears through play and happiness and feeling secure.
You met a bunch of guys when you were here, they all come here for Moose type issues. Once they're happy, then they meet people and are still happy.
have a great week.
To date, with all of your help, we have donated medical supplies (bandages and gauze), food, toys, and $1150 to Spirit Animal Sanctuary. This is absolutely amazing. The support of family, friends, and fellow animal lovers has been absolutely amazing. I could never say enough to express my gratitude for your help, so please just know that you have helping so many wonderful animals.
We haven't gotten an update on Moose yet, although as he takes quite some time to fully adjust to new people and places, I am not surprised. In the mean time, I am sure that he is enjoying all of the snow and his new doggy friends.
We have made it to 8% of our goal!
We are up to $335 in funds raised. Moose is leaving in just 2 short weeks! We would like to make the largest donation possible when dropping Moose at the Sanctuary.
We have received MANY generous donations from friends and family, and are so grateful for your help and support of this wonderful program.
If you are unable to make a large donation, we would still appreciate a small one! EVERY donation counts, and EVERY donation helps. $5 is less than it costs for a meal at McDonalds. Would you be willing to go without that one Big Mac to help feed homeless animals?
Would you prefer to write a check? Please make all checks payable to Spirit Animal Sanctuary. Email [email protected] to find out how to get that check to us! We can pick it up from you, or give you a mailing address to send it to. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
